Accessibility Statement

ReadNTag is a research workspace, and we want everyone to be able to read, annotate, and organise their work, regardless of ability or assistive technology. We treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment rather than a one time checkbox.

The standard we are working toward

We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as our target. This is a goal we are actively building toward. It is not a claim of full conformance. Some parts of the product already meet much of this standard, and other parts do not yet, so we are improving coverage as we go.

What we do today

• We use semantic HTML and labelled controls so screen readers can describe the interface.
• We aim for keyboard access to the core reading, tagging, and library flows.
• We aim for readable colour contrast and support a dark theme.
• We test against common assistive technology as part of our normal development.

Known limitations

We want to be honest about where we fall short today. We are aware of these gaps and are working on them.

• The PDF reader and annotation canvas rely on visual interaction, so some actions are not yet fully usable with a keyboard or screen reader alone.
• Some images, charts, and icons may be missing complete text alternatives.
• Content that comes from external publishers and data sources is outside our control, so its accessibility can vary.
• Focus order and announcements in a few interactive areas, such as drag and drop on the board, are still being improved.

How to report a problem

If you hit an accessibility barrier, please tell us so we can fix it and prioritise the right work. Email support@readntag.com with the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you were using. We read every report and will do our best to respond and to offer the information you needed by another route in the meantime.
