Fair use & plan limits

Fair use keeps ReadNTag fast and reliable for everyone, and keeps our running costs predictable so we can offer generous plans. The limits below are set high enough that normal research use never reaches them. They exist only to stop runaway or abusive usage.

✓ means no set limit: use as much as your research needs. We may review, limit, suspend, or close any account we suspect of abusive, automated, or otherwise improper use, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. A dash (—) means it is not included on that plan.

How the limits work

• Your data is never held hostage. A metadata export (your references, notes and structure) is free and instant on every plan, anytime. A full export with all your files can be run once per billing cycle and counts toward your monthly download allowance, so a large library may finish next cycle, but you always get your metadata now, and nothing is ever locked away.
• We never delete your content for going over a limit. If you end up over a cap after a downgrade, you keep the newest items and the older ones become read-only until you upgrade or prune. Nothing is lost.
• Monthly allowances reset on your billing day. Download bandwidth resets on the same calendar day each month, tied to your billing cycle, not a rolling window. Cumulative limits (storage, topics, notes) are simply totals.
• Uploads are not capped. We do not meter how much you upload; upload volume is bounded only by your storage and the single-file size limit.
• A tick (✓) means no set limit. Where a plan shows a tick instead of a number, use as much as your research needs. We may review, limit, suspend, or close any account we suspect of abusive, automated, or otherwise improper use, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
