Fair use & plan limits
Fair use keeps ReadNTag fast and reliable for everyone, and keeps our running costs predictable so we can offer generous plans. Every plan has limits. Some are set high enough that normal research use does not reach them, to stop runaway or abusive usage; others are what separates one plan from another. The table lists them all.

We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks our Terms or Acceptable Use Policy, for example through abusive or automated use. Where the problem is serious we may act at once; otherwise we tell you first. A dash (—) means it is not included on that plan.
How the limits work
- Your data is never held hostage. A metadata export (your references, notes and structure) is free and instant on every plan, anytime. A full export with all your files can be run once per billing cycle and counts toward your monthly download allowance, so a large library may finish next cycle, but you always get your metadata now, and nothing is ever locked away.
- We never delete your content for going over a limit. If you end up over a cap after a downgrade, you keep the newest items and the older ones become read-only until you upgrade or prune. Nothing is lost.
- Monthly allowances reset on your billing day. Downloads and uploads reset on the same calendar day each month, tied to your billing cycle, not a rolling window. Cumulative limits (storage, topics, notes) are simply totals.
- Uploads each billing cycle are limited to twice your plan's storage. Everything you add counts: files you upload, PDFs and supplementary files the browser extension saves, a PDF that Find PDF keeps, and snaps.
